CAD/CAM Programmer

Roberson Cartridge Company specializes in low volume runs of antique, obsolete, precision, and prototype brass cartridges for firearms. Our proprietary innovative technology and patent pending designs have propelled us to become the world leader for precision and prototype cartridges. We are expanding our operations and are seeking qualified applicants to join our team.

Our CAD/CAM programmer creates drawings and CNC programs using the software provided by the company. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of CAD/CAM experience in a manufacturing environment. Is able to read blueprints, understand drawings and determine the best method for setting up and machining a part. Has experience with FANUC based G-Code/M-Code and is able to perform post process editing. Is proficient with Microsoft Office Software, is able to communicate professionally with clients and fellow employees both verbally and in writing.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, and specifications.
  • Understand and apply GD&T to the programming process.
  • Create dimensional CAD drawing for customer approval.
  • Create CAM programming to be used on multi spindle swiss screws, single spindle lathes and mills.
  • CAD/CAM models must be accurate to pre-identified specifications.
  • Experience using SolidWorks.
  • Experience with TISIS software preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Optimize tooling and cutting parameters based on material and setup.
  • Maintain and revise quality control on programs, tool sheets, setup documentation and other process that effect quality.

  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts to establish valid conclusions.
  • Report to engineering and management information that affects parts quality or production.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and fellow employees both verbally and written. The ability to write in a professional business manner.
  • Communicate honestly and provide solutions to problems in a timely fashion
  • Work in a team environment or individually to execute manufacturing processes and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Great attendance, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, able to multitask and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a production team, receiving and giving productive feedback from peers and supervisors that works toward increasing production quality and staff skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to learn new skills that will benefit the business.
  • May be required to stand for extended about of time and able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Meet or exceed minimum pre-identified production quotas.
  • Occasional travel may be required by conventional means including commercial aircraft and motor vehicle
  • Previous experience in the firearms industry preferred.
