7mm Benchrest

Developed by Mike Walker in 1978, the 7mm Benchrest was designed for use in the Remington XP-100 single shot bolt action handgun. It was designed for Metallic Silhouette Shooting and Remington later made it available in the model XB-40 single shot bolt action rifle.

It is an adequate round for medium size game at distances up to 200 yards. It is capable of propelling a .284” dia. 140 grain bullet at 2,215 fps with 1,525 ft.-lbs. of energy at the muzzle. It does, however, make and excellent varmint round.

Roberson Cartridge Company is a custom manufacture of Vintage, Obsolete, Hard to Find and Wildcat calibers.
