.417 Black Mamba

The 417 Black Mamba strikes at the USA 2,000 yard Elite Long Range Nationals in Townsend Montana. Jeff Reed shot a new ELR record with a 13.059” group at this distance with his new wildcat. Jeff said Shawn Williams at Northridge Rifles built the 417 Black Mamba using a precision reamer made specifically for them by Pacific Tool and Gauge, a BAT action, an SBI Stock and the CKye-POD. RCC Brass was used along with Cutting Edge’s 475 grain Lazer bullets. Once I dialed in the IOR Terminator scope I sent my rounds down range.

Shawn Williams built an identical 417 Black Mamba for Heather McGuire, but used a McMillan stock, and she won the unlimited shooting class using Cutting Edge 475 grain bullets and RCC Brass. During our load development we were surprised at the increased velocity with RCC’s C272 alloy and modified cartridge design. “We averaged an increase of 150 fps which made the difference in our shooting performance”. Coupled the all the best product from BAT, PT&G, IOR, SBI, McMillan and CKye-POD we couldn’t miss. Thanks to all that made this possible.
