11mm French Ordnance Revolver

In 1873 the Model 1873 Ordnance Revolver was adapted by the French military. The 8mm Lebel revolver replaced it in 1892 and was the standard issue sidearm of French officers during WW I. It was in service with the French police until the 1960’s. The 11mm’s of the 1873 Ordnance Revolver refers to the bore diameter, as barrels measure close to .451” in diameter across the grooves.

Most militaries of the era used similar handgun cartridges and the Model 1873 French Ordnance Revolver was slightly under powered than others. It is capable of propelling a .451” dia. 180 grain bullet at 800 fps with 253 ft.-lbs. of energy.

Roberson Cartridge Company is a custom manufacture of Vintage, Obsolete, Hard to Find and Wildcat calibers.
